Hello Fresh vs DIY - What's Cheaper? | LIFESTYLE

Before we start... I AM NOT SPONSORED BY HELLO FRESH or WOOLWORTHS. AND I DO NOT WORK FOR HELLO FRESH or WOOLWORTHS. Okay! Fab now that we have that sorted let's get to it!

So being the bargain gal I am, I wanted to know what the price difference would be between ordering Hello Fresh vs buying the same ingredients, in the same portion at the supermarket. So I price checked 3 of the Hello Fresh recipes, checking each ingredient through Woolworths online. Hello Fresh doesn't deliver 'household items' such as oil, butter, eggs etc so I'm not including those in the price checks. I am also basing these Hello Fresh meal prices off The Classic Box with 5 Recipe / 2 Person (10 servings) box which is $109.95 (including postage) per week. This comes to $10.99 per serving.

PRICES ARE CORRECT AS OF 10TH APRIL 2018 VIA WOOLWORTHS AUSTRALIA!

(BTW The cheapest option through Hello Fresh is to buy The Family Box with 5 Recipes for 4 people (20 servings), this is $169.75 a week, at about $8.48 per serving.)

So as you can see, there's not really a huge price difference between ordering Hello Fresh and doing it DIY. With Hello Fresh, the tiny bit extra you're paying is for the convenience of all your week's ingredients/recipes being delivered in a box, not having to step into a supermarket and the lack of wasted food. Which are three of the main reason's why I love Hello Fresh so much and continue to do it every week! I think It's totally worth doing Hello Fresh over doing it DIY!
